Formation is a gradual and mutual process in which the candidates become part of the the congrgation, and begins to acquire the spirit of the congregation and the reality of religious life in the Church. It requires total immersion in the life of Christ and complete concentration on the meaning of the Gospel life today.

Those who join the congregation anew have to undergo six years of formation in and out of Kerala. During different stages of formation – come and see, pre-postulancy, postulancy, pre-novitiate, novitiate and regency the candidate clarifies her motivations, achieves greater psychological balance and interior freedom in assessing them and herself and attains integral growth.

  

  MSMI formation house at New Panvel, started in 2000 for the formation of young girls from outside Kerala to become zealous missionaries who through various language and theological studies can evangelise effectively. The young girls are given faith formation classes and first hand experience of ministering to various sections of the society especially - Non Christians, children, youth and transgender community.
